How to Lock a User Account#

This topic provides step-by-step instructions for locking a user account in TheHive.

To permanently delete a user account, see Delete a User Account.

To remove a user account from a specific organization without deleting it, see Add or Remove an Existing User Account to an Organization.

Procedure

As an administrator#

Required permissions

Only users with an admin-type profile that has the manageUser permission can manage user accounts at the client level in TheHive.

  1. Go to the Users view from the sidebar menu.

  2. Select next to the user account you want to lock.

    Can't find a user account?

    You can apply filters and sorting to help locate user accounts. These preferences can be saved using views.

  3. Select Lock.

    To lock multiple user accounts, select next to each account you want to lock. Then select and confirm with OK.

  4. Select OK.

As an organization administrator#

Required permissions

Only users with the manageUser permission can manage user accounts at the organization level in TheHive.

Lock applies to all organizations

Locking a user account from one organization locks it across all organizations.

  1. Go to the Organization view from the sidebar menu.

  2. Select the Users tab.

  3. Select next to the user account you want to lock.

  4. Select Lock.

    To lock multiple user accounts, select next to each account you want to lock. Then select and confirm with OK.

  5. Select OK.
